Valve for press and FNPT systems

The Legend Valve 450-380P is a 1" x 1/2" press reducing tee with a female NPT branch. It connects press-fit copper tubing to threaded pipe in residential and commercial plumbing installations. The fitting carries a California Proposition 65 warning for chemicals known to cause cancer and reproductive harm.

Verify tubing and thread compatibility

Confirm that the existing pipe is 1" press copper and that the branch requires a 1/2" female NPT connection. Ensure the press tool and jaws match the 1" size and that thread sealant or tape suitable for potable water is available. Orders below $75 do not qualify for free shipping from the manufacturer.

Reduces line size at a tee junction

The reducing tee transitions from a 1" main run to a 1/2" threaded outlet without additional couplings or bushings. It frees up space by combining the transition and branch in a single press fitting. The press connection eliminates soldering, while the FNPT branch accepts standard threaded components such as valves or gauges.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the 450-380P reducing tee and what extra parts must I buy?

The box contains the 1" x 1/2" press-by-press-by-FNPT tee itself; press jaws, tubing and thread sealant are sold separately.

How do I decide between the 450 and 380 versions shown in the model number?

450-380P is a single SKU — the figures are part of the same part number, not separate capacity choices.

What does the 1" x 1/2" press-by-FNPT label mean once the tee is installed in a plumbing system?

It joins a 1" press pipe on the run, a 1/2" press branch and a 1/2" female NPT outlet in one fitting.
