Legend Valve Reducing Coupling

This Legend Valve 450-445P reducing coupling connects a 3-inch fitting to a 2-1/2-inch press end in plumbing systems. The component is supplied new and carries the Legend Valve brand for professional installations.

Suits installers joining different diameters

It suits plumbers who need a straight reduction between a fitting and a large press connection. Installers requiring a coupling with two press ends or a different size combination should select another part.

Fitting-by-press reduction is the deciding spec

The single specification that decides fitment is the 3-inch fitting by 2-1/2-inch large press configuration. Proposition 65 warnings apply for chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm.

Questions about this item

Will the 3" x 2-1/2" FTG x PRESS reducing coupling fit onto my existing 3" copper pipe and 2-1/2" press system without adapters?

The coupling connects a 3" fitting end directly to a 2-1/2" large press end, so it joins those two sizes without extra adapters.

How can I confirm the press joint is secure after pressing the 2-1/2" end onto the pipe?

A properly pressed joint shows the tool's complete press indicator and the fitting sits fully seated on the pipe with no visible gap.

Does the box include press rings or seal elements for the 2-1/2" connection, or must I buy them separately?

The coupling is supplied as a single fitting; press rings and any required seal elements are sold separately.
