4" x 3" Reducing Coupling

The Legend Valve 450-449P is a 4" x 3" Fitting x Large Press reducing coupling. It connects a 4-inch fitting end to a 3-inch press end in plumbing systems. The red finish identifies the coupling on site. It is supplied new for professional installation.

Installers joining 4" and 3" press lines

This coupling suits plumbers reducing a 4-inch fitting connection to a 3-inch press connection. It is not for joining pipes of the same diameter. It is not for threaded, soldered or push-fit jointing methods. Buyers needing a different size combination or joint type should select another fitting.

Fitting x Large Press connection

The single specification that decides fit is the Fitting x Large Press end configuration. One end accepts a 4-inch fitting; the other end accepts a 3-inch large press joint. Verify both pipe ends match these exact connection types before purchase. The product carries a California Proposition 65 warning for cancer and reproductive harm.

Questions about this item

Does the 450-449P coupling require periodic seal replacement or lubrication under normal service?

The press-to-connect design creates a permanent mechanical joint that does not use replaceable seals or require scheduled lubrication.

What pressure or temperature limit is reached first during continuous operation?

System pressure and temperature ratings are governed by the piping standard to which the 4" x 3" reducing coupling is installed, not by the fitting alone.

How much heat does the coupling itself generate when fluid flows all day?

The fitting is a passive metal component; it adds no heat of its own and simply assumes the temperature of the circulating fluid.
