Legend Valve 450-709P press adapter

This Legend Valve 450-709P press adapter connects a 2-1/2 inch press fitting to a female thread in plumbing installations. It suits professional installers and maintenance teams who need a reliable transition between press and threaded systems. The component is supplied new and carries the Legend Valve brand. California Proposition 65 warnings apply to this product.

Thermals noise and power draw

This valve adapter has no moving parts, electrical supply or active cooling, so it generates no heat, noise or power draw during normal operation. Performance depends entirely on the fluid pressure and temperature within the piping system. No thermal management or electrical provisioning is required for the adapter itself.

Upgrade path and fit

The adapter replaces a threaded coupling or union when a press connection is preferred on one side of the joint. It is not for systems that require a press-to-press or thread-to-thread connection at this size. Installers who need a different end configuration or a larger bore should select an alternative fitting.

Questions about this item

How is the 450-709P press adapter installed and what step do installers often miss?

The adapter is pressed onto compatible tubing using a calibrated press tool; the step often missed is verifying the press indicator ring is fully seated before pressurising the system.

What maintenance or replacement will the 450-709P press adapter need over time?

Inspect the press joint and sealing element periodically for corrosion or leakage; replace the adapter if the press connection shows deformation or the seal deteriorates.

What limit appears first on the 450-709P press adapter during sustained use?

The California Proposition 65 warning indicates the adapter contains chemicals known to cause cancer and reproductive harm, which is a material limitation to consider.
