Hybrid Instant Digital Camera

The Leica Sofort 2 combines a 2.4mm f/2 lens with a 1/5" CMOS sensor to capture 4.9MP images. It stores photos on a microSD card or in internal memory holding approximately 45 shots. A 3" TFT LCD provides live preview before printing. Bluetooth connectivity links to the Leica Fotos app for smartphone transfer and remote control.

Instant Film Output Constraints

The camera prints exclusively on Leica instant film formats, limiting each physical print to the cartridge dimensions. The bundle includes 60 sheets, defining the total immediate output before a refill is required. Digital files remain on the card or app, but tangible copies are bound by the film supply and the fixed wide-angle field of view equivalent to 28mm full-frame.

Compatibility Checks Before Buying

Verify that you use Leica-branded instant film packs matching the Sofort 2 specification, as other formats will not feed or develop correctly. Confirm access to a USB charging source for the rechargeable lithium-ion battery between shooting sessions. Ensure your smartphone runs a compatible operating system for the Leica Fotos app to enable wireless transfer, remote release and selective printing features.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 60-sheet film bundle or just the camera?

The bundle includes 60 sheets of instant film so you can start printing immediately; the camera alone holds about 45 images internally and takes a microSD card for more digital storage.

What does the 4.9MP sensor actually deliver in everyday shots?

The 1/5" CMOS sensor paired with the 2.4 mm f/2 lens produces 4.9MP files that are sharp enough for the 3" LCD preview and for printing on the included instant film.

How does the Bluetooth link to the Leica Fotos app limit what I can do?

Bluetooth lets you transfer photos to a phone for sharing and remote control, but printing still happens from the camera's own instant film engine, not over the wireless link.
