1.20 TB 10K SAS enterprise drive

This 1.20 TB Lenovo hard drive spins at 10000 rpm and connects through a 6Gb/s SAS interface in a 2.5" form factor. It is built for server environments that require high-speed internal storage with a SAS host bus adapter.

Suited for compatible IBM servers only

The drive is listed as compatible with IBM x3650 M4, x3530 M4, x3500 M4, x3300 M4 and x3250 M4 servers. Buyers without a supported server or a 6Gb/s SAS backplane should look at other storage options.

6Gb/s SAS interface decides fit

The single specification that determines whether this is the right part is the 6Gb/s SAS interface; the system must provide a matching SAS controller and physical bay for the drive to function.

Questions about this item

Will the 10000 rpm spindle speed limit sustained write performance?

The 10000 rpm spindle speed sets the mechanical ceiling for sustained throughput on this 1.20 TB drive.

How much heat and noise does the 2.5 inch SAS drive produce when running all day in a server?

At 7.69 oz and 0.6 inch height the drive fits dense bays; typical 10K SAS units run warm and audible under constant load.

Which server backplane or controller do I already need for the 6Gb/s SAS interface to work?

Compatible IBM servers include the x3650 M4 x3530 M4 x3500 M4 x3300 M4 x3250 M4 with native SAS backplanes.
