ThinkPad T450 refurbished laptop

This Lenovo ThinkPad T450 is a 14.1 inch refurbished business laptop running Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit. It uses an Intel Core i5-5300U processor at 2.3 GHz with 8GB of DDR3L memory and a 180GB SATA SSD. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 drives the non-touch display.

Suits mobile office work, not modern gaming

The configuration handles everyday productivity, web browsing and video playback on the 14.1 inch screen. Buyers who want a touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity or a dedicated graphics card should look elsewhere. The 8GB memory limit and integrated graphics also rule out heavy creative workloads or current titles.

180GB SATA SSD capacity

The single 180GB SATA 2.5 inch solid-state drive determines how much software and data you can keep onboard. With 180GB of flash storage there are no moving parts, so operation is silent and boot times are shorter than a hard drive. Users needing more internal space will require an external drive or a larger replacement SSD.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 180 GB SSD or look for a larger capacity?

The 180 GB SATA SSD holds the operating system and everyday programs comfortably; large media libraries will need external storage.

What does the 2.3 GHz base speed of the Core i5-5300U mean for daily work?

The dual-core processor runs at 2.3 GHz base frequency, providing responsive performance for office tasks, web browsing and video playback.

How does the SATA interface affect the 180 GB SSD in practice?

The drive uses a SATA 2.5" connection, so sequential reads and writes are limited to SATA speeds while still being much faster than a mechanical hard drive.
