Suits mobile professionals needing a tested

The system targets users who want a lightweight Windows 10 machine with integrated graphics, 802.11ac wireless, three USB ports and a webcam for everyday office tasks. Buyers who require a touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, discrete graphics or an optical drive should look elsewhere. The 12GB maximum memory ceiling also limits heavy multitasking scenarios.

128GB SATA SSD capacity

The single 128GB SATA 2.5 inch solid-state drive determines whether this unit can hold the required operating system, applications and local files. No additional drive bay or larger capacity is mentioned in the specifications.

Questions about this item

How much heat or fan noise does the Core i5-5300U produce during long sessions?

The 2.30 GHz Core i5-5300U uses integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 and a 15 W-class design, so sustained workloads stay cool and the fan runs quietly in a 14.0" chassis.

What must I already own to connect external displays to this T450S?

The laptop provides USB 3 ports and integrated graphics; you need a monitor with a matching input or a USB 3 to video adapter and the appropriate cable.

Will the 802.11ac wireless card work with my older 802.11n router at home?

Yes, the 802.11ac WLAN is backward compatible with 802.11n networks, so it connects to older routers at their maximum supported speed.
