Compact ambidextrous mouse with USB-C wired connection, red optical sensor and on-the-fly DPI switching up to 2400 DPI
The Lenovo 400 is a wired optical mouse with a USB-C connector, designed for users who need a lightweight pointing device that works immediately on Chrome OS, Windows 10 or Windows 11. Its ambidextrous shape suits both left- and right-handed operators, and the red optical sensor tracks on glass and mirrored surfaces. No batteries or drivers are required; the mouse draws power directly from the host port.
The mouse connects through a single USB-C cable, so it needs a free USB-C port on the host computer and nothing else. Because it is bus-powered, it frees up a USB-A socket and removes the need to carry spare batteries or a separate receiver. The four-button layout — left click, right click, scroll click and DPI switch — is handled by the operating system without additional software, leaving the rest of the port budget untouched.
Power consumption stays within the USB-C bus limit, so the mouse adds negligible load to a laptop battery. The optical sensor has no moving parts beyond the scroll wheel, keeping acoustic output to a faint click from the buttons and a soft ratchet from the wheel. Three on-the-fly DPI steps — 800, 1600 and 2400 — let the user trade cursor speed for precision without changing any power profile.

The red optical sensor tracks on most surfaces including glass and mirror, and the three-level DPI switch lets you drop to 800 or 1600 DPI if the cursor feels too sensitive after hours of use.
No active cooling or moving parts beyond the scroll wheel, so the mouse stays silent and does not generate noticeable heat during continuous operation.
A USB-C port is required; the mouse draws power directly from the connection and supports Chrome OS, Windows 10 and Windows 11 without extra drivers.
