AI-Ready Tower Desktop

The Lenovo IdeaCentre Tower 8 is a compact desktop built around an AMD Ryzen 7 250 processor and integrated AMD Radeon 780M graphics. It ships with 64 GB of DDR5 memory and a 2 TB NVMe SSD running Windows 11 Home. The system includes a USB keyboard and mouse plus Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth connectivity. Grey chassis measures 11.47 by 3.5 by 13.37 inches and weighs 9.36 lb.

Sustained Workload Behaviour

A 260 W power supply feeds the processor and integrated graphics during extended AI-assisted tasks or multi-app sessions. The small tower form factor limits thermal headroom, so continuous heavy compute will trigger fan ramp and possible throttling. Integrated graphics share system memory, reducing bandwidth available to the CPU under prolonged loads. Buyers who need discrete GPU performance or higher sustained power should look elsewhere.

Installation And Common Issues

The unit arrives with the original seal opened only for the specified memory and storage upgrades performed by technicians. No further assembly is required beyond connecting power, display and peripherals. The compact 3.5-inch width restricts internal expansion slots and drive bays. Proprietary motherboard layout and the 260 W PSU prevent standard graphics card upgrades. Users needing additional internal storage or add-in cards will find the chassis impractical.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the 260W power supply get when the Ryzen 7 250 runs all day?

The 260W unit is sized for the Ryzen 7 250 and integrated Radeon 780M graphics, so typical office workloads keep fan noise low and temperatures within normal desktop limits.

What display cable and monitor port do I need to use the Radeon 780M graphics?

The tower has no built-in display, so you must supply a monitor with an HDMI or DisplayPort input and the matching cable — neither is included.

Will my existing USB keyboard and mouse work alongside the bundled USB keyboard and mouse?

Yes, the system provides multiple USB ports, so you can keep your current peripherals connected at the same time as the supplied USB keyboard and mouse.
