Ready-to-use 15.6 inch touchscreen laptop

This Lenovo IdeaPad 1 ships with Windows 11 Home in S mode and an Intel Core i3-1215U processor. The 15.6 inch FHD IPS panel delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution with touch input. Eight gigabytes of soldered DDR4 memory and a 256GB NVMe SSD are installed. It suits students or home users who want a working device straight from the box.

Soldered 8GB DDR4 1866 memory cannot be upgraded

The system memory is fixed to the mainboard, so the 8GB capacity is permanent. Buyers who need more RAM for heavier multitasking or virtual machines should consider a different model. The processor provides six cores with a maximum turbo of 4.4 GHz on the performance cores. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics handles the display output.

Windows 11 S mode restricts app installation

Leaving S mode is a one-way switch to standard Windows 11 Home. The 42Wh battery connects to a 65W AC adapter for charging. Ports include USB 2.0, USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 for data only, HDMI 1.4b and a combo audio jack. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 provide wireless connectivity. A 720p webcam with privacy shutter and a 4-in-1 card reader complete the package.

Questions about this item

How does the i3-1215U processor with six cores and a 4.4 GHz boost perform in everyday Windows 11 tasks?

The six-core design splits two performance cores at 4.4 GHz and four efficient cores at 3.3 GHz, so web browsing, office apps and video playback stay responsive while background updates run on the efficient cores.

What does the USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port support, and what is its practical bandwidth limit?

The port handles data transfer only at up to 5 Gbps; it does not carry video or power delivery, so external monitors must use the HDMI 1.4b output instead.

Can the 256 GB M.2 2242 NVMe drive be replaced with a larger stick, and what length does the slot accept?

The slot is sized for 2242-form-factor drives, so only 42 mm long M.2 NVMe modules will fit; longer 2280 drives cannot be installed.
