Product identity

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is a 15.3 inch Windows 11 Home laptop powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 8540U processor with integrated AMD Radeon 740M graphics. It ships with 16 GB of DDR5 memory and a 512 GB NVMe SSD. The touch-enabled WUXGA IPS display provides a 1920 x 1200 resolution for everyday work and study.

Thermals noise power

A 60 Whr three-cell lithium-polymer battery supplies mobile power while the slim 0.70 inch chassis weighs 3.59 lbs. The efficient Ryzen 5 8540U operates between 3.20 GHz and 4.90 GHz, enabling quiet performance for typical office tasks and media playback without active cooling noise dominating the environment.

Deciding specification

The single specification that decides suitability is the 16 GB DDR5 memory paired with a 512 GB NVMe SSD; this capacity handles mainstream multitasking and local file storage but cannot be expanded beyond 32 GB RAM or 2 TB storage, so buyers who need more memory or a larger drive should consider a different configuration.

Questions about this item

How is the 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD installed, and what step do people often miss?

The drive uses an M.2 slot; the step often missed is removing the bottom cover screws and disconnecting the 60 Wh battery before inserting the module at an angle and securing it with the retention screw.

What maintenance or replacement will the 16 GB DDR5 memory need later?

The memory is soldered and not user-replaceable; the only later action is a software memory test if errors appear, otherwise no physical maintenance is required.

What limit appears first during sustained use on the AMD Radeon 740M graphics?

Thermal throttling from the 60 Wh battery and shared cooling typically caps GPU clocks before power or memory bandwidth becomes the bottleneck.
