15.3-inch WUXGA touch laptop

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is a 15.3-inch laptop with a 1920 x 1200 IPS touchscreen, anti-glare coating and 300 nits brightness. It runs on an AMD Ryzen 5 8540U processor with Radeon 740M graphics, 8 GB DDR5 memory and a 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed in a Luna Grey chassis.

Ports and wireless for daily workflows

Two USB-A 5Gbps ports, one USB-C 5Gbps port with power delivery and DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 1.4, a micro-SD reader and a headphone jack handle peripherals and external displays. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 provide wireless connectivity. The 60 Wh battery and 13.52 x 9.43 x 0.70 inch form factor support mobile productivity without a dock.

Steps up from 8 GB soldered or smaller SSD configs

The 8 GB DDR5 and 512 GB NVMe combination suits office suites, browser workloads and light creative tasks. Buyers who need more than 32 GB memory headroom or dual-drive storage expansion should look elsewhere. The jump is worth it when a colour-accurate touch panel and numeric keypad matter for daily input.

Questions about this item

Does the 8 GB soldered DDR5 limit multitasking under sustained load?

The laptop ships with 8 GB of DDR5 memory and supports up to 32 GB, so heavy multitasking may hit the installed capacity before the platform limit.

How loud or hot does the Ryzen 5 8540U get during an all-day workload?

The 60 Wh battery and 15 W-class processor keep thermals moderate; fan noise stays low for typical office tasks but rises under continuous CPU load.

Which peripherals need the USB-C 5 Gbps port with DisplayPort 1.2 and PD 3.0?

External monitors, docks or chargers that use DisplayPort alt-mode or USB Power Delivery require the single USB-C port; USB-A devices use the two 5 Gbps Type-A ports.
