Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 Gaming Laptop

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 is a 15.6 inch gaming and multimedia laptop with a 1920x1080 FHD non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i7-3630QM processor reaching up to 3.4GHz with 16GB DDR3 memory and a 250GB solid state drive. Discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT650M graphics handle demanding visual tasks while Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed.

Ready to use out of the box

This laptop arrives fully assembled with the operating system, drivers and 16GB of memory already installed so there are no internal components to fit. The only common issue is ensuring the Blu-ray RW drive and UltraBay slot are recognised after a major Windows update, which usually requires a quick driver reinstall from Lenovo support.

Check your software and peripheral needs

Verify that any specialised applications you rely on are compatible with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit before ordering. The system provides three USB 3.0 ports and Bluetooth 4 for wireless accessories, so confirm your external devices use those standards. Buyers who need a touchscreen, additional internal drive bays or a newer graphics architecture should look elsewhere.
