Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 15.6" Gaming Laptop

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop running Windows 10 Pro. It combines an Intel Core i7-3630QM processor with an NVIDIA GeForce GT650M discrete graphics card. The system includes 16GB of DDR3 memory and a 1TB hard disk drive. A Blu-ray RW drive and backlit keyboard complete the feature set.

Buyers needing discrete graphics

This laptop suits users who want a dedicated GPU for older titles and multimedia work on a 1920x1080 screen. The 16GB memory allowance helps with multitasking and creative applications. Buyers who want solid-state storage, a touchscreen, or a lighter chassis should look elsewhere. The optical drive adds bulk that ultraportable users avoid.

1TB hard drive and 16GB DDR3 memory headroom

The 1TB hard disk drive stores large game libraries and media collections without immediate space pressure. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR3 RAM handles modern multitasking and content creation workloads comfortably. The mechanical drive limits boot and load speeds compared with solid-state alternatives. The GT650M graphics card reaches its limit with demanding current titles at high settings.

Questions about this item

What operating system must already be licensed to activate the pre-installed Windows 10 Pro 64-bit?

The laptop ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit already activated, so no separate licence is required to start using it.

Open Device Manager, expand Display adapters, and confirm the GT650M appears alongside the Intel HD Graphics entry.
