Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 Gaming Laptop

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop with a 1920x1080 non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i7-3630QM processor with 8GB DDR3 memory and a 500GB solid-state drive. Discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT650M graphics handle visual workloads. Windows 8.1 64-bit comes pre-installed.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This laptop suits users who want a ready-to-play gaming machine with fast SSD storage and a Full HD screen. Buyers who need more than 8GB of system memory or a larger internal drive should look elsewhere. Anyone requiring a touchscreen or a newer Windows version will not find those features here.

Deciding specification: NVIDIA GeForce GT650M

The GT650M is the component that determines if this system meets your performance target. It provides dedicated video memory for gaming and GPU-accelerated applications. If your titles or workflows demand a more powerful GPU, this is not the right part.
