Legion 5-18 purpose and audience

The Lenovo Legion 5-18 is a 15.1-inch gaming laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 7 260 processor with 8 cores and 16 threads, 96 GB of DDR5 memory and a 4 TB PCIe SSD. It targets gamers and creators who need high refresh-rate visuals and large local storage in a single portable system.

Sustained-load behaviour

Advanced cooling keeps the chassis cool while the RTX 5060 laptop GPU with 8 GB GDDR7 and the Ryzen 7 260 maintain consistent peak performance during long sessions. The 165 Hz WQXGA OLED panel with HDR True Black 600 and 500 nits brightness stays stable without thermal throttling.

Install experience and common issues

Windows 11 Pro boots rapidly from the 4 TB SSD so the machine is ready to use immediately. The only frequent friction point is the single 3.5 mm combo jack, which forces headset users to rely on a splitter or USB audio adapter for separate mic and headphone connections.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the Ryzen 7 260 get when the RTX 5060 runs at 165Hz all day?

Advanced cooling keeps the device cool and maintains consistent peak performance during extended use, so fan noise stays low even under sustained 3.8 GHz base and 5.1 GHz boost loads.

Which peripherals must I already own to use the USB4 40Gbps port and HDMI 2.1 output?

A USB4 or DisplayPort 1.4 cable for the USB-C port and an HDMI 2.1 cable for the HDMI port let you drive external displays at up to 8K@60Hz.

Will my 5 Gbps USB-A hub and Bluetooth 5.4 headset work with the Legion 5-18?

Yes, the three USB-A ports run at 5 Gbps and the system includes Bluetooth 5.4, so existing hubs and headsets connect without adapters.
