Legion 5i OLED gaming laptop

The Lenovo Legion 5i is a 15.3" gaming laptop built around an Intel Core Ultra 7 251HX 18-core processor and an NVIDIA RTX 5070 12GB GDDR7 GPU. It ships with 16GB DDR5 memory and a 1TB M.2 TLC SSD. The 2560 x 1600 OLED panel runs at 165Hz with 500 nits brightness and DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification.

Who this suits and who it does not

This machine fits gamers and creators who want high-refresh OLED visuals and an 18-core CPU in a 15.3" form factor. Buyers who need more than 16GB of RAM or a larger SSD should consider other configurations. The 12GB GPU frame buffer also limits some 4K texture workloads.

Deciding specification: 165Hz OLED display

The 15.3" 2560 x 1600 OLED screen at 165Hz is the feature that defines this model. Its 500-nit peak brightness and DisplayHDR True Black 1000 rating deliver deep blacks and fast motion clarity that standard IPS panels cannot match. If your workflow or games benefit from that combination, this is the right part.

Questions about this item

Does the box contain only the laptop and charger, or are accessories like a mouse or headset included?

The box includes the laptop and its power adapter. No mouse, headset or other peripherals are bundled, so they must be purchased separately if required.

Is the 16 GB DDR5 RAM soldered or upgradeable, and does the single 1 TB M.2 slot leave room for a second drive?

Memory is soldered and cannot be increased beyond 16 GB. Storage uses one M.2 slot; a second drive can only be added if the chassis provides an unused bay, which is not confirmed in the specifications.

What does the 165 Hz OLED refresh rate mean for fast-paced gaming on the 15.3" 2560 x 1600 panel?

The 165 Hz refresh rate lets the 15.3" OLED panel draw up to 165 frames per second, reducing motion blur in fast games when the RTX 5070 can sustain matching frame rates at 2560 x 1600.
