Legion 5i 16-inch QHD 240 Hz gaming laptop

This 16-inch gaming laptop pairs a 24-core Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7 GPU. A 2560 x 1600 IPS panel runs at 240 Hz with 500 nits and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. 32GB DDR5 memory and a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD come standard. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 handle wireless connectivity.

Upgrade from 60 Hz panels and 8-core CPUs

Moving from a 60 Hz display to the 240 Hz panel cuts motion blur in fast shooters. Stepping up from an 8-core mobile chip to the 24-core Ultra 9 275HX adds headroom for streaming while gaming. The jump is worth it when you need high frame rates and background encode performance together.

32GB DDR5 and 1TB NVMe handle modern AAA titles

The 32GB kit runs current games and creative workloads without paging. The 1TB PCIe NVMe drive holds a working library of large titles. Memory caps at 64GB if you later need more capacity for virtual machines or heavy content creation. GPU memory stays at 8GB GDDR7, limiting 4K texture packs.

Questions about this item

What chassis dimensions and weight should I check before buying a sleeve or backpack for this Legion 5i?

The laptop is 0.85 inch thin and weighs 5.4 lbs, so any 16-inch sleeve or pack must accommodate at least that thickness and weight.

How do I install an additional DDR5 module and what is the common mistake?

Remove the bottom cover, insert the stick at an angle into the empty SODIMM slot until it clicks, then press flat; the step most people miss is seating it fully before locking it down.

When will the 80 WHr 4-cell battery typically need replacement?

Lithium-ion packs of this capacity usually last 2 to 3 years of daily cycling before run-time drops below 80 % of the original 80 WHr rating.
