ThinkPad T450 refurbished business laptop

This Lenovo ThinkPad T450 is a refurbished 14.0" business laptop running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. It uses a dual-core Intel Core i5-5300U processor with 3 MB L3 cache and Intel HD Graphics 5500. The system includes 8GB of memory and a 256GB SSD. The non-touch display has a 1600 x 900 resolution.

Upgrade from older dual-core ultraportables

The T450 replaces earlier dual-core ultraportables that used slower processors and mechanical hard drives. The jump is worth it when you need the responsiveness of a 256GB SSD and the efficiency of 5th generation Intel architecture. Buyers who want more storage or a higher resolution screen will need a different model.

Fits a mobile office setup

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 uses shared system memory, leaving the 256GB SSD free for the operating system and applications. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit supports business management features. The 14.0" non-touch form factor suits travel and desk docking. Builders who need a discrete graphics card or a touchscreen should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the 14.0 inch chassis accept a second 256GB drive for extra storage?

The specifications list a single 256GB SSD with no mention of a second drive bay or M.2 slot.

What is the correct order for seating the 8GB memory module during a RAM upgrade?

Power off, remove the bottom cover, align the notch on the module with the slot key, press firmly until the side clips snap shut.

When will the 256GB SSD typically need replacement under normal business use?

Solid-state drives have no moving parts; the 256GB unit should last several years before wear-leveling reduces capacity.
