Business ultrabook with 16 GB memory

The ThinkBook 13s ships with Windows 10 Pro and an Intel Core i7-8565U quad-core processor that reaches 4.6 GHz. Sixteen gigabytes of RAM and a 2 TB NVMe PCIe SSD provide capacity for large workloads. The 13.0" FHD IPS panel runs at 1920 x 1080 resolution with HDR support. A fingerprint reader integrated into the power button and a physical webcam cover strengthen daily security.

Thermals and acoustics in office use

The aluminium chassis dissipates heat from the U-series processor during typical productivity tasks. Fan noise stays low when handling documents, email and browser sessions. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 keeps power draw modest compared with discrete GPU alternatives. Bluetooth 4.1 connects peripherals without a dongle.

Accessories that change daily workflow

The 180-degree hinge lets the screen lie flat for tabletop collaboration. A backlit keyboard supports work in dim environments. USB Type-C carries audio and video to external displays. The zinc-alloy hinge with powdered-metal technology and anti-spill protection are built for longevity. Discrete TPM encrypts data alongside Windows 10 security features.

Questions about this item

How do I add an NVMe drive to the ThinkBook 13s and which step is often missed?

The laptop already includes a 2TB NVMe PCIe SSD soldered or fitted in the single M.2 slot, so no extra drive can be added; the step people miss is checking that the slot is occupied before buying an upgrade.

Which component will need replacement first during the life of this ThinkBook 13s?

The 16GB memory is soldered to the board and cannot be replaced; the 2TB NVMe SSD is the only user-replaceable part and will likely be the first component swapped if capacity or speed becomes limiting.

What thermal limit appears first when the i7-8565U runs at 4.6 GHz for long periods?

The 13.0 inch chassis with integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 reaches its cooling capacity quickly, so sustained turbo clocks throttle to protect the CPU and the 1080p display from overheating.
