Ready for mobile professionals

The ThinkBook 13s is a 13.0 inch ultrabook built around an Intel Core i7-8565U processor that reaches 4.6 GHz. It carries 32GB of memory and a 500GB NVMe PCIe SSD, running Windows 10 Pro on a 1920 x 1080 FHD IPS panel. Weighing 2.9 lbs, it suits travelers who need strong multitasking in a compact chassis.

Security hardware that works daily

A discrete TPM encrypts data alongside Windows 10 protections. The integrated fingerprint reader on the power button logs you in with one touch. A physical camera cover slides over the webcam lens so you are only visible when you choose to be. Bluetooth 4.1 handles wireless peripherals without extra dongles.

Simple setup with one hinge quirk

The 180 degree hinge lets the screen lay flat for quick sharing across a table. The ThinkPad UltraNav touchpad and backlit keyboard need no driver installs on Windows 10 Pro. Buyers who want a touchscreen or a heavier GPU workload should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Is the 32 GB memory soldered or can I add a module later?

The 32 GB memory is soldered to the board and cannot be upgraded or replaced by the user.

Does the i7-8565U throttle at its 4.6 GHz boost during long workloads?

Sustained loads will hit the processor's thermal limits before the 4.6 GHz boost can be maintained continuously.

How loud does the fan get and how hot does the aluminium chassis feel after hours of use?

Under all-day load the fan spins up audibly and the aluminium body becomes warm to the touch.
