Compact desktop for office and casual use

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720Q is a mini PC built around an Intel Core i5 8400T processor running at 1.70 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD, and Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed. The small form factor suits desks where space is limited and the workload centres on everyday productivity.

Thermals noise and power in daily work

Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 handles display output without a discrete card, keeping heat and acoustic output low during typical office tasks. The low-power processor and solid-state storage contribute to modest energy draw while the system runs standard business applications.

Build integration and expansion headroom

DisplayPort, HDMI, USB 3.1 and USB-C ports provide video and peripheral connectivity, while built-in Wi-Fi removes the need for a wired network link. Memory can be increased up to 32 GB if workloads grow, but the chassis does not accommodate a dedicated graphics card or additional internal drives.

Questions about this item

How is the M720Q Tiny mounted and which screw hole is often missed?

The M720Q Tiny uses a VESA bracket that screws into four holes on the underside; the rear-most hole is frequently overlooked, leaving the bracket loose.

Which component will need replacement first under heavy daily use?

The 512 GB SSD has a finite write endurance; once its reserved blocks are exhausted the drive must be replaced.

What thermal limit appears first during sustained workloads on the i5-8400T?

The 1.70 GHz base processor will hit its thermal ceiling and throttle before the 32 GB RAM ceiling or the Intel UHD Graphics 630 becomes the bottleneck.
