Tiny business desktop with six-core processor

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q packs an Intel Core i5-9500T running at 2.2GHz with six cores and 9 MB L3 cache into a 7.2 x 1.36 x 7.05 inch chassis weighing 2.91 lbs. It ships with 16GB memory and a 512GB NVMe drive, aimed at office workers who need responsive multitasking in minimal desk space.

Bundled keyboard, mouse and Windows 11 Pro

A USB keyboard and USB mouse are included so the system is ready to work straight out of the box. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit provides business-grade management features and BitLocker encryption without extra licence purchases. Internal Wi-Fi and a single RJ-45 port give flexible network options.

Simple setup with limited internal access

External ports include three USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A, two DisplayPort 1.2 and an audio combo jack, plus an optional Type-C or HDMI slot. The tiny form factor leaves no room for additional drive bays or full-size cards, so storage upgrades require an external enclosure. Builder who wants more internal expansion should choose a larger chassis.

Questions about this item

Will the 512 GB NVMe drive need replacement before the 16 GB memory?

The 512 GB NVMe drive may reach its write-endurance limit and require replacement, while the 16 GB memory has no moving parts and typically outlasts the drive.

What limit appears first when the i5-9500T runs at 2.2 GHz all day?

The 2.2 GHz six-core processor will hit its thermal ceiling and throttle before the 16 GB memory or NVMe storage become bottlenecks.

How much fan noise and heat does the 7.2 x 1.36 x 7.05 inch chassis produce under continuous load?

The tiny 7.2 x 1.36 x 7.05 inch case forces the fan to spin faster, so audible airflow and warm exhaust are noticeable during sustained workloads.
