Compact business desktop with integrated 24" display

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny combines an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8500 hexa-core processor running at up to 4.1 GHz with 8 GB DDR4 memory and a 1 TB hard drive in a micro form factor. A 24 inch Full HD IPS panel is built into the chassis so the system arrives ready to deploy without separate monitor cables. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and a USB keyboard and mouse are included for immediate productivity.

Sustained workload behaviour with hexa-core CPU

The six-core i5-8500 maintains its 3.0 GHz base frequency across extended tasks while Intel UHD Graphics handles standard office visuals without a discrete GPU. The 65 W processor rating keeps thermal output predictable during long document, spreadsheet or video-conferencing sessions. Memory operates at DDR4 speeds and the single 1 TB mechanical drive supplies consistent sequential throughput for large file archives.

Thermals, acoustics and power in daily use

The micro chassis uses a compact internal fan arrangement that stays quiet during typical business loads while drawing modest power from the integrated supply. Waste heat is exhausted through the rear vents so desk placement remains flexible. The included USB Wi-Fi and Bluetooth dongle adds wireless connectivity without increasing the system's thermal envelope or audible noise.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 65 W i5-8500 generate during continuous all-day operation?

The processor has a 65 W thermal design power, so sustained loads will produce a moderate amount of heat that the tiny chassis must dissipate.

Does the USB Wi-Fi dongle need a free USB port to provide wireless connectivity?

Yes, the included USB dongle occupies one USB port to deliver Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability.

Can the existing 3.5" 1 TB hard drive remain installed if I add an M.2 drive for the operating system?

The system supports a dual-drive configuration with an M.2 drive plus the 3.5" 1 TB hard drive for additional storage.
