Product identity

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720t is a tower desktop computer built around an Intel Core i5-8500 processor with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB SSD. It ships with Windows 11 Pro, a wireless keyboard and mouse, and built-in Wi-Fi for office, home or remote-work tasks.

Thermals noise and power

The i5-8500 runs at a 3.00GHz base clock and can reach 4.10GHz turbo while the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 handles display output. In typical office workloads the system stays cool and quiet thanks to its tower chassis airflow design.

Sustained load behaviour

Under continuous multi-threaded work the six-core processor maintains its turbo frequencies within the thermal limits of the tower form factor. The 16GB DDR4 and 1TB SSD keep data flowing without bottlenecks during extended sessions.

Questions about this item

How do I install the wireless keyboard and mouse, and what is the common mistake?

Plug the single USB receiver into one of the four front USB ports; the mistake is trying to pair each device separately when they share one dongle.

What maintenance will the 1TB SSD and 16GB DDR4 need over time?

The SSD benefits from Windows 11 Pro storage optimisation and the DDR4 slots remain accessible inside the tower for future upgrades.

Which limit appears first when the Intel Core i5-8500 runs at 4.10 GHz for long periods?

The Intel UHD Graphics 630 thermal ceiling is reached before the CPU hits its own throttle point under sustained loads.
