Compact enterprise desktop

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M90q Gen 5 is a tiny desktop PC built for business professionals who need enterprise-grade performance in space-constrained offices. It runs on an Intel Core i5-14500 processor with 14 cores and 20 threads, reaching up to 5.0 GHz on P-cores and 3.7 GHz on E-cores. The system includes 32 GB of DDR5-4800 memory and a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD with Opal 2.0 encryption. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed.

Tool-free chassis with expansion flexibility

A tool-free design simplifies internal access for memory or storage upgrades without requiring specialised equipment. An optional removable dust shield helps maintain airflow and extend the system lifecycle in demanding environments. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 770 drives up to four displays simultaneously, supporting multi-monitor workflows in healthcare, retail or finance settings. The compact black case fits discreetly on or behind a desk.

Replaces bulky tower workstations

This tiny form factor replaces traditional tower desktops where desk space is limited but full Windows 11 Pro manageability and Intel vPro Enterprise features are required. The jump is worth it when IT departments need centralised security, remote management and tool-free servicing across distributed sites. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance or more than 32 GB of memory should consider larger chassis options.

Questions about this item

What SSD interface and lane count does the 512GB M.2 2280 drive use, and what throughput does that cap at?

The 512GB SSD is an M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0x4 NVMe Opal 2.0 drive, so its practical throughput is limited by the four-lane PCIe 4.0 interface.

What are the physical dimensions and mounting requirements for this Tiny chassis?

The ThinkCentre M90q Gen 5 Tiny uses a compact tool-free chassis; it fits in confined spaces and supports optional VESA mounting behind a display.

How is the DDR5 SODIMM installed, and what step do people often miss?

Open the tool-free chassis, align the 32GB DDR5-4800 SODIMM notch with the slot, press firmly until the retention clips click — many forget to seat it fully so the clips engage.
