Compact business desktop

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M90q Gen 6 13AC001YUS is a tiny desktop computer built around an Intel Core Ultra 7 265 processor with Intel vPro technology. It ships with 16 GB of DDR5 memory and a 512 GB PCI Express NVMe 4.0 x4 solid-state drive. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on the Intel Q870 platform. The small form factor targets home-office workers and students who need commercial-grade manageability in minimal desk space.

Thermals and power

The tiny chassis uses an integrated cooling solution designed for the Core Ultra 7 265 and its E-cores. Under typical office workloads the system runs quietly and draws modest power from its external supply. Sustained multi-threaded tasks will raise fan speed and surface temperature, but the platform remains within its thermal envelope for daily productivity. No liquid cooling or supplemental airflow is required.

Build and connectivity

The black metal enclosure measures a fraction of a traditional tower and can be mounted behind a display or tucked under a desk using the optional bracket. Front and rear ports include USB-A and USB-C connectors for peripherals and external storage. A single NVMe slot and two SO-DIMM sockets sit inside the tool-less cover for future upgrades. Buyers who need multiple discrete graphics cards or several 3.5-inch drives should consider a larger chassis.

Questions about this item

How do I add a second NVMe SSD to the M90q Gen 6 tiny chassis?

Remove the cover, locate the spare M.2 slot, insert the NVMe 4.0 x4 drive, secure it with the screw, then replace the cover; the step most people miss is forgetting to fasten the retaining screw before closing the case

Which component in the ThinkCentre M90q Gen 6 will need replacement first under heavy daily use?

The 512 GB NVMe 4.0 x4 SSD has a finite write endurance; once its program-erase cycles are exhausted the drive must be swapped for a new one

What thermal limit appears first when the Core Ultra 7 265 runs sustained workloads in this tiny system?

The processor will hit its thermal throttle point and reduce clock speeds to stay within the tiny chassis cooling capacity
