ThinkPad E16 16" Touch business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad E16 is a new 16-inch commercial laptop with a WUXGA touchscreen, AMD Ryzen 5 7530U processor, 40GB DDR4 memory and a 2TB NVMe SSD. It runs Windows 11 Pro and includes a fingerprint reader, backlit keyboard and WiFi 6 connectivity. The 16:10 IPS anti-glare display suits professionals who need extra vertical space for documents and code.

Hexa-core Ryzen 5 7530U sustained performance

The six-core processor runs at a 2.0 GHz base clock and can boost to 4.5 GHz with 16 MB cache, while integrated Radeon graphics handle external 4K monitors via HDMI 1.4 or full-function USB-C. Extensive DDR4 memory and PCIe storage keep multitasking responsive during long work sessions without thermal throttling.

Upgrade from 15.6" E-series or 17.3" models

This E16 Gen 1 succeeds the E15 Gen 4, bridging the gap between 15.6-inch portability and 17.3-inch screen real estate in a lightweight chassis. Buyers who need a larger 16:10 touchscreen, 40GB RAM and 2TB storage in a single device will benefit; those requiring discrete graphics or a smaller footprint should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the Ryzen 5 7530U get when the ThinkPad E16 runs all day?

The 6-core Ryzen 5 7530U operates at a 2.0 GHz base clock and can boost to 4.5 GHz; integrated AMD Radeon graphics share system memory, so sustained loads will warm the chassis but the 16-inch form factor allows a larger internal airflow path than the 15.6-inch E15.

What cables or peripherals must I already own to use the USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port for power and video?

The full-function USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port accepts USB-PD chargers and carries DisplayPort Alt Mode; you need a USB-C power adapter rated for the laptop and a USB-C to HDMI or DisplayPort cable for external 4K 3840x2160 output.

Will my older USB-A 3.0 flash drives and HDMI 1.4 monitor work with the E16's ports?

Yes — two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports are backward compatible with USB 3.0 and 2.0 devices, and the HDMI 1.4 port drives your existing monitor at up to 4K 30 Hz; the RJ45 Ethernet jack also works with standard Cat5e or Cat6 cables.
