ThinkPad P1 G4 mobile workstation

The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 G4 is a 16.0-inch mobile workstation running Windows 11 Pro. It combines an Intel Core i7 11th Gen processor with 32GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. An NVIDIA T1200 GPU drives the 2560 x 1600 WQXGA IPS display. The unit is aimed at professionals who need certified application performance on the move.

Thermals and power profile

The Intel Core i7 11th Gen CPU has a minimum speed of 2.30GHz. Under typical workloads the cooling system manages heat from the processor and discrete graphics without excessive fan noise. Power draw scales with the combined load of the 16-core GPU and the 32GB memory subsystem. The 1TB SSD contributes minimal thermal output during sustained reads and writes.

Upgrade context and fit

This configuration replaces an older workstation that lacks a dedicated T1200 GPU or a 2560 x 1600 panel. The jump is worth it when workflows demand certified drivers and 32GB of memory in a 16.0-inch chassis. Buyers who need more than 1TB of internal storage or a touchscreen should look elsewhere. The two memory slots allow future expansion if workloads grow.
