Mobile workstation with Xeon processor

The Lenovo ThinkPad P17 G2 is a 17.0 inch mobile workstation built around an Intel Xeon W-11855M processor running at 3.00 GHz. It carries 32GB of memory and a 1TB SSD for storage. The NVIDIA RTX A4000 professional graphics card targets engineers and creators who need certified drivers for CAD, simulation and content creation workloads.

Service access and thermal management

The chassis provides user access to memory and storage slots for upgrades or replacement. Professional graphics and a high-wattage Xeon processor generate significant heat; sustained loads will trigger fan spin-up and surface temperatures that can become uncomfortable on the lap. Ensure ventilation grilles remain unobstructed during heavy compute tasks.

Sustained load behaviour

Ultra Performance Mode allows a user-controlled boost that raises power limits for the processor and GPU during extended rendering or simulation runs. Clock speeds will settle below the initial burst once thermal saturation is reached. The 1920 x 1080 non-touch display maintains consistent colour output without the power draw of higher-resolution panels.
