Mobile workstation for engineers

The Lenovo ThinkPad P50 is a 15.6 inch mobile workstation built around an Intel Core i7 6th gen quad-core processor. It ships with 8GB of DDR4 memory, a 128GB solid-state drive and an NVIDIA Quadro M1000M graphics card. Windows 10 Home 64-bit comes pre-installed. This configuration targets professionals who need certified drivers for CAD and 3D applications on the move.

Durable chassis with essential ports

The ThinkPad chassis is tested against military-grade specifications for shock, vibration and temperature extremes. A spill-resistant keyboard and TrackPoint pointing device support long typing sessions without an external mouse. Standard connectivity includes USB 3.0, HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, Ethernet and an SD card reader. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth handle wireless peripherals and network access.

Upgrade from consumer laptops

Moving to this workstation replaces a standard office notebook when ISV-certified graphics drivers become a daily requirement. The Quadro M1000M enables hardware-accelerated viewports in SolidWorks, Revit and similar packages that integrated graphics cannot sustain. Buyers who need more than 128GB of local storage or 8GB of memory for large assemblies should plan an immediate upgrade.
