Mobile workstation with ISV certification

The Lenovo ThinkPad P50 is a 15.6" mobile workstation built for professionals who need certified application stability. It ships new with Windows 10 Pro, an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor reaching 3.5 GHz, 64GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB SSD. NVIDIA Quadro M1000M graphics drive the 1920 x 1080 IPS anti-glare display.

Four USB ports and Bluetooth 4.1 set

Four USB ports provide the physical limit for wired peripherals without a dock or hub. Wireless accessories pair through Bluetooth 4.1 and the AC Wi-Fi radio. The non-touch FHD panel does not support pen or finger input, so workflows that rely on direct screen interaction will need an external device.

256GB SSD decides if the drive fits the project

The single 256GB solid-state drive holds the operating system, applications and active project files. Buyers who need larger local datasets or multiple virtual machines must plan for external storage or a drive upgrade. No second internal drive bay is populated from the factory.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 64GB DDR4 configuration or look for a smaller memory option?

This unit ships with 64GB DDR4 already installed, so no smaller option needs to be selected.

What does the 3.5GHz turbo figure mean when I am rendering a 3D scene?

The Core i7-6700HQ can reach 3.5GHz on active cores, giving short bursts of extra speed during heavy rendering workloads.

Which display interface does the 15.6" 1920x1080 panel use and what resolution does it cap at?

The built-in FHD IPS panel is driven at its native 1920x1080 resolution; external monitors connect through the available video outputs.
