Mobile Workstation with 64GB RAM

The Lenovo ThinkPad P50 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built for professionals who need certified application stability. It combines an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor with a 1TB solid-state drive and a Full HD IPS display. The system ships with Windows 7 Professional and includes a fingerprint reader for secure access.

Suited for ISV-Certified Workloads

This configuration suits engineers and designers running ISV-certified applications that rely on the NVIDIA Quadro M1000M graphics card. Buyers who need a lighter ultrabook for frequent travel or a modern operating system for current software support should consider other form factors. The 5.9 lbs weight and legacy OS limit its appeal for mobile-first or security-sensitive deployments.

64GB DDR4 Memory Capacity

The installed 64GB of DDR4 memory is the decisive specification for handling large datasets and complex 3D rendering tasks without paging to the 1TB SSD. Workstations with lower memory configurations will constrain multitasking performance in the same certified software environments. This capacity directly determines whether the platform meets the demands of memory-intensive professional workflows.

Questions about this item

Does the laptop need any external power adapter to run the Intel Core i7-6700HQ at 3.5 GHz?

The 15.6" ThinkPad P50 includes its own AC adapter; no extra power brick is required for the processor to reach its rated speed.

Will the NVIDIA Quadro M1000M work with an older monitor that only has VGA input?

The P50 provides HDMI and Mini DisplayPort outputs; a passive VGA adapter is not supported, so an active converter or a monitor with digital input is needed.

How can I confirm the 64 GB of DDR4 memory is recognised after first boot?

Open Task Manager or System Information in Windows 7 Pro — both will show 64 GB installed and running at the correct speed.
