Mobile workstation for engineering and design

The Lenovo ThinkPad P50 pairs an Intel Core i7-6820HQ quad-core processor with 32 GB DDR4 memory and a 512 GB NVMe PCIe SSD. An NVIDIA Quadro M2000M discrete GPU provides 4 GB GDDR5 video memory for certified professional applications. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed on the 15.6 inch Full HD LED display.

Gray chassis with Thunderbolt 3 and mini DisplayPort

The laptop body uses a gray finish and includes four USB 3.0 ports, one Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, an SD card reader and a webcam. The Thunderbolt 3 connection supports high-speed external storage or docks while the mini DisplayPort drives additional external monitors. A charger and battery are included in the box.

Quad-core Skylake architecture limits modern

The 2.7 GHz base clock with 3.60 GHz turbo frequency and 8 MB L3 cache handles legacy CAD and rendering tasks but cannot match current multi-threaded performance expectations. The Quadro M2000M 4 GB GDDR5 frame buffer restricts scene complexity in newer GPU-accelerated software. Buyers who need more storage or higher sustained compute should consider other options.
