Mobile workstation for rendering and AI

The Lenovo ThinkPad P53 is a 15.6" mobile workstation running Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i7-9750H hexa-core processor with a 4.5 GHz turbo frequency. It pairs an NVIDIA Quadro T1000 GPU with 4 GB video memory with 128 GB of DDR4 system memory. Storage combines a 1 TB NVME drive and a 1 TB hard drive for capacity and speed.

Suited for ISV-certified apps and secure workflows

Engineers and analysts running ISV-certified applications will benefit from the Quadro driver stack and the fingerprint reader backed by discrete TPM encryption. The 1920 x 1080 IPS panel covers 72% colour gamut at 300 nits for consistent visuals. Buyers who need a touchscreen or a higher refresh-rate display should look elsewhere.

Sustained load on hexa-core CPU and Quadro GPU

Under continuous multi-threaded workloads the six-core processor maintains elevated clocks while the Quadro T1000 drives compute tasks without thermal throttling typical of ultra-thin chassis. The dual-storage layout keeps the NVME volume free for active project files while the hard drive absorbs sequential writes. Fan noise rises proportionally to the sustained power draw of both silicon components.

Questions about this item

What operating system must already be licensed to use the pre-installed Windows 10 Pro 64-bit?

The laptop ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit already installed and activated, so no separate licence is required to start working.

Will the 15.6" FHD IPS panel at 1920 x 1080 resolution drive an external 4K monitor through the available video outputs?

The NVIDIA Quadro T1000 with 4GB video memory supports external displays; the built-in panel is 1920 x 1080 and the GPU can drive higher resolutions on connected monitors.

How can I confirm the 128GB DDR4 RAM and the 1TB NVME + 1TB HDD storage are both recognised after first boot?

Open Task Manager or System Information in Windows 10 Pro to verify 128GB DDR4 memory and the two storage volumes totalling 2TB appear correctly.
