Mobile workstation with six-core i7

The Lenovo ThinkPad P53 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around an Intel Core i7-9750H six-core processor running at 2.60 GHz with a 4.5 GHz turbo frequency and 12 MB L2 cache. It ships with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVME drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed.

Quadro T1000 graphics and 500-nit FHD IPS

The NVIDIA Quadro T1000 GPU provides 4 GB dedicated video memory for professional 3D and rendering workloads. The 1920 x 1080 IPS panel delivers 500 nits brightness with HDR Dolby Vision support and covers 72 percent colour gamut. Anti-glare coating and non-touch operation suit extended work sessions in varied lighting.

256 GB NVME limits local project storage

The single 256 GB NVME drive fills quickly with large datasets, simulation caches or multiple virtual machines. Buyers who need more local capacity for active projects should plan external or internal expansion. Fingerprint reader and dTPM encryption secure data at rest.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 256GB NVME option or look for a larger capacity?

The 256GB NVME drive is the only capacity listed for this configuration. It holds the operating system and active project files, while larger media libraries would need external or secondary storage.

What does the 4.5GHz turbo frequency mean when the laptop is rendering a 3D scene?

The Intel Core i7-9750H can reach 4.5GHz on one or two cores for short bursts, speeding up single-threaded viewport operations, while sustained all-core loads run closer to the 2.60GHz base clock.

Does the NVME interface cap transfer speeds in this workstation?

The 256GB NVME drive uses a PCIe interface, delivering multi-gigabyte-per-second throughput that keeps the 6-core processor fed during video editing and CAD workloads.
