Mobile workstation with dual storage

The Lenovo ThinkPad P53 is a 15.6 inch mobile workstation running Linux Mint on an Intel Core i7-9750H hexa-core processor. It combines 16GB DDR4 memory with 2TB NVME and 4TB 2.5 inch SSD storage. A 4GB NVIDIA Quadro T1000 drives the FHD IPS display at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Suited for Linux-based rendering and data tasks

This configuration suits engineers and developers who need a certified Linux environment with large local datasets and professional graphics drivers. Buyers who require a touchscreen, higher GPU memory for complex 3D scenes, or a different operating system should look elsewhere.

4GB Quadro T1000 for professional ISV apps

The 4GB NVIDIA Quadro T1000 determines whether the system can accelerate certified ISV applications and drive external displays at the required colour fidelity. If your workflow demands more video memory or consumer GeForce features, this GPU will not meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

How long can the i7-9750H sustain its 4.5 GHz turbo before thermal limits throttle it?

The 6-core processor has a 12 MB L2 cache and runs at 2.60 GHz base; sustained turbo duration depends on the chassis cooling design and workload.

What are the typical fan noise and surface temperatures when the Quadro T1000 and CPU run at full load all day?

The 15.6" 500-nit IPS display and discrete 4 GB GPU share the thermal solution; noise and heat vary with ambient temperature and the Linux Mint power profile.

Which docking stations or port replicators work with the ThinkPad P53's side connector for dual monitors and power?

The P53 uses Lenovo's mechanical side-dock interface; any compatible ThinkPad workstation dock that matches the 20QN part number will deliver video, USB and charging.
