Mobile workstation with dual storage

The ThinkPad P53 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around a six-core Intel Core i7-9750H processor that reaches 4.5 GHz. It ships with Linux Mint and includes a fingerprint reader for biometric login. The NVIDIA Quadro T2000 provides 4 GB of video memory for professional graphics workloads. This configuration suits engineers and creators who need certified drivers and ISV stability.

Pre-installed operating system and sealed chassis

Linux Mint arrives ready to use, so no OS installation is required. The fingerprint reader enrolls in minutes through the desktop settings. Memory and storage bays are internal; accessing them demands near-complete disassembly and voids the factory seal. Buyers who want to upgrade RAM or add a second NVME drive should plan for professional service or accept the shipping configuration.

15.6-inch 500-nit FHD IPS display

The panel delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution at 500 nits with 72% colour gamut coverage and Dolby Vision HDR support. Anti-glare coating reduces reflections in bright environments. The non-touch, wide-screen format is fixed; buyers who need touch input, higher resolution or a different aspect ratio should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the i7-9750H is hitting its 4.5 GHz turbo frequency under load?

Open a terminal and run a monitoring tool such as turbostat or s-tui while executing a heavy compile or render job; the read-out will show each core reaching the rated 4.5 GHz ceiling.

Which accessories are included and which must be purchased separately?

The workstation ships with the 15.6" FHD IPS panel, 16 GB DDR4 memory, 512 GB NVME plus 2 TB HDD storage, fingerprint reader and Linux Mint pre-installed; a power adapter and documentation are standard, while docking stations, external GPUs or extra RAM modules are optional extras.

Should I choose the 512 GB NVME plus 2 TB HDD configuration or a different capacity?

The listed unit already combines a 512 GB NVME boot drive with a 2 TB HDD for bulk data; if you need faster bulk storage, you would have to swap the HDD for a larger NVME drive yourself, as no other factory capacity is offered.
