Mobile workstation with hexa-core i7

The Lenovo ThinkPad P53 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation powered by an Intel Core i7-9850H processor with six cores and a 4.6 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with Windows 10 Pro, 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a combined 256 GB NVME plus 4 TB SSD storage array. The 1920 x 1080 IPS panel provides full HD clarity for professional applications.

Professionals needing ISV-certified graphics

This system suits engineers, designers and analysts who rely on NVIDIA Quadro T2000 graphics with 4 GB video memory for CAD, rendering or data-science workloads. Buyers who require a touchscreen or higher display colour coverage should look elsewhere. The non-touch FHD screen covers 72 % colour gamut at 300 nits brightness.

Quadro T2000 4 GB GPU decides fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the NVIDIA Quadro T2000 with 4 GB dedicated video memory. It provides ISV-certified drivers for professional 3D and compute tasks that consumer GeForce cards do not support. If your workflow demands more GPU memory or a different certified GPU, this model will not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 256GB NVME plus 4TB 2.5-inch SSD combo or a single larger NVME drive?

The 256GB NVME and 4TB 2.5-inch SSD combination gives a fast boot drive and a high-capacity data drive in one laptop.

How does the 4.6GHz turbo frequency behave when rendering on the i7-9850H?

The 6-core i7-9850H can reach 4.6GHz on lighter threads, but sustained all-core loads run lower to stay within thermal limits.

What does the NVME interface cap at for the 256GB boot drive?

The NVME boot drive uses PCIe lanes from the i7-9850H platform, so its peak throughput follows that generation's lane speed.
