Mobile Workstation With Dual Storage

The Lenovo ThinkPad P53 is a 15.6 inch mobile workstation running Linux Mint out of the box. It pairs a six-core Intel Core i7-9850H processor with 16GB of DDR4 memory and an NVIDIA Quadro T1000 graphics card carrying 4GB of video memory. Storage combines a 2TB NVME drive with a 2TB 2.5 inch SSD for high capacity. A 1920x1080 IPS panel and fingerprint reader complete the core feature set.

Suited For Linux-First Workflows

This system suits engineers and analysts who need a certified Linux environment with dual-drive redundancy and professional graphics drivers pre-configured. The 300 nit, 72 percent colour gamut display supports colour-aware tasks. Buyers who require a touchscreen, a higher refresh rate panel or more than 16GB of memory should look at other configurations.

Quadro T1000 4GB Graphics

The NVIDIA Quadro T1000 with 4GB of dedicated video memory is the specification that determines suitability for GPU-accelerated CAD, rendering and compute workloads. It provides certified driver support for professional applications on Linux. If your workload demands more video memory or a higher GPU tier, this model will not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

Does the box include a charger and are any drive caddies or RAM sticks missing that I must buy separately?

The laptop ships with its original power adapter. Both the 2 TB NVME and the 2 TB 2.5-inch SSD are already installed, and the 16 GB DDR4 memory fills the fitted slots, so no extra storage or RAM parts are required.

Should I choose the 15.6 inch 1920 x 1080 IPS panel or a different screen option for colour work?

The only display offered on this unit is the 15.6 inch FHD IPS non-touch screen at 300 nits with 72 % colour gamut; there is no alternative panel to select.

What does the 4.6 GHz turbo figure mean when the Quadro T1000 4 GB is rendering a typical CAD model?

The six-core i7-9850H can lift two cores to 4.6 GHz for short bursts, while the Quadro T1000 4 GB handles viewport acceleration, so mixed CPU-GPU workloads stay responsive without sustained maximum clocks.
