Mobile Workstation for Professional Applications

The Lenovo ThinkPad P71 is a 17.3 inch mobile workstation built for engineers and designers who need ISV certified stability. It runs Windows 7 Professional on an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor with 16GB of DDR4 memory. The 17.3 inch FHD IPS display shows 1920 x 1080 resolution for detailed visual work.

NVIDIA Quadro M620M Graphics with 2GB VRAM

The single specification that decides fit is the NVIDIA Quadro M620M GPU with 2GB of dedicated video memory. This professional card drives the 1920 x 1080 IPS panel and handles certified CAD and 3D applications. Buyers who need more graphics memory for large assemblies or GPU rendering should consider other options.

Dual Storage with Factory Windows 7 Pro

The laptop arrives with a 1TB SSD plus a 1TB hard drive already installed and Windows 7 Professional loaded. No drive caddies or operating system installation is required. The fingerprint reader and secure chip are active out of the box. Buyers who need a newer operating system must plan their own upgrade path.

Questions about this item

What does the 3.8 GHz turbo frequency mean when the i7-7700HQ is inside the P71 chassis?

The quad-core processor can reach 3.8 GHz for short bursts when thermal headroom allows, speeding up single-threaded tasks such as CAD model rebuilds or spreadsheet recalculations.

Which display interface does the 17.3" FHD IPS panel use and what resolution does it support?

The built-in panel runs at 1920 x 1080 over its internal eDP link; external monitors connect through the workstation's native video outputs.

What physical drive bays and memory slots are available for the 1 TB SSD, 1 TB HDD and 16 GB DDR4?

The 1 TB M.2 NGFF SSD occupies the M.2 slot, the 1 TB hard drive fits the 2.5" bay, and the 16 GB DDR4 at 2400 MHz fills two SO-DIMM sockets.
