17.3" FHD IPS Mobile Workstation

The Lenovo ThinkPad P71 is a 17.3 inch Full HD IPS mobile workstation running Windows 7 Professional. It targets professionals who need ISV-certified stability for 3D rendering and enhanced multitasking. A fingerprint reader and secure chip provide hardware-based identity protection. The anti-glare non-touch display suits extended work sessions in varied lighting.

Intel Core i7-7820HQ Sustained Performance

The quad-core Intel Core i7-7820HQ operates at a 2.90 GHz base frequency with a 3.90 GHz turbo ceiling and 8 MB of L3 cache. This configuration maintains throughput during prolonged 3D rendering and heavy multitasking rather than only in short bursts. 8 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz memory supports the processor when moving between large datasets and ISV-certified applications. The 1 TB hybrid drive combines mechanical capacity with 8 GB of NAND flash for accelerated access to active project files.

NVIDIA Quadro M620M Thermal Profile

The NVIDIA Quadro M620M with 2 GB VRAM handles professional graphics workloads within the 17.3 inch chassis. Under typical office and rendering loads the cooling system manages heat without extreme fan speeds. Power draw stays consistent with mobile workstation expectations during normal use. The spill-resistant keyboard and TrackPoint remain usable even when the system is under sustained load.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the Intel Core i7-7820HQ get when the 17.3" FHD display and Quadro M620M run all day?

The quad-core 2.90 GHz processor with 3.90 GHz turbo and 8 MB cache is built for sustained workstation loads; the 17.3" IPS panel and 2 GB Quadro M620M share the thermal design, so fan noise rises under continuous 3D rendering but remains within mobile-workstation norms.

What must I already own to use the 1 TB hybrid drive and 8 GB DDR4 2400 MHz memory immediately?

The system ships with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit pre-installed on the 1 TB hybrid drive and 8 GB DDR4 2400 MHz soldered, so only a power source is required to start working.

Will my older 1920 x 1080 monitors and legacy peripherals connect to the P71's port selection?

The 17.3" 1920 x 1080 IPS display matches that resolution natively, and the workstation-class chassis includes the expansive port array needed for older external displays and accessories.
