Mobile workstation with Xeon E3-1535M

The Lenovo ThinkPad P71 is a 17.3-inch mobile workstation built around an Intel Xeon E3-1535M v6 quad-core processor reaching 4.20 GHz turbo frequency. It includes 16 GB of ECC memory and a dual-drive layout combining a 2 TB PCIe NVMe SSD with a 1 TB hard disk. The UHD 4K IPS panel runs at 3840 x 2160 resolution. An NVIDIA Quadro P3000 GPU with 6 GB memory drives graphics workloads. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed.

Suits ISV-certified workflows.

This machine targets professionals running ISV-certified applications such as 3D rendering, CAD or simulation tasks that benefit from ECC memory and Quadro drivers. The 17.3-inch chassis and workstation-class cooling make it a desk-replacement device rather than a thin-and-light travel companion. Buyers who want a lighter laptop for general office work or frequent commuting should look at something else. The non-touch display also rules out pen or direct-touch workflows.

Factory-assembled unit.

The laptop ships fully assembled with storage and memory installed, so no internal hardware installation is required. Initial configuration centres on installing Quadro driver updates and ISV-specific software profiles. The most common issue is ensuring the correct certified driver branch for each professional application. Fingerprint reader and smart-card utilities may need enrolment before first use. No user-serviceable upgrades are described in the supplied data.
