A 90 W dock connects a ThinkPad to power, Gigabit Ethernet, three USB 3.0 ports, three USB 2.0 ports with always-on charging, and dual external displays via DisplayPort 1.2, DVI-D or VGA
The Lenovo ThinkPad Pro Dock 40A10090US connects a compatible notebook to power, wired network and up to two external displays through a single mechanical alignment. Three USB 2.0 ports and three USB 3.0 ports handle keyboards, mice, printers and other peripherals. One USB 2.0 port provides always-on charging for phones or tablets even when the notebook is undocked. The package includes a 90 W ThinkPad AC adapter.
Gigabit Ethernet maintains a stable 10/100/1000 link during long work sessions without the variability of wireless. The included 90 W adapter continuously powers the notebook and all attached USB devices simultaneously. Always-on charging on one USB 2.0 port remains active while the dock is powered, independent of notebook presence. Driver-free video outputs preserve consistent display quality over extended periods.
The 90 W adapter limits this dock to notebooks that operate within that power envelope; higher-draw models will not charge correctly. Video outputs consist of one DisplayPort 1.2 and one DVI-D that share circuitry, so only one digital display can be used at a time alongside the VGA port. Buyers needing simultaneous dual-digital outputs or more than 90 W should consider a different docking solution.

The dock has no fan and draws power only through the included 90 W AC adapter, so it produces no audible noise and minimal heat during continuous operation.
You need a compatible ThinkPad that connects via the dock's proprietary bottom connector; the 90 W AC adapter is included in the box.
Yes, the dock provides one VGA port and one DisplayPort 1.2 port (shared with DVI-D), allowing a legacy VGA display and a modern DisplayPort monitor to run simultaneously.
