Target user and core specification

This refurbished ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 is built for professionals who need a reliable 14-inch Windows 11 Pro laptop with 16 GB of DDR4 3200 memory and a 256 GB PCIe SSD. The 11th Generation Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor provides four cores and eight threads with a maximum turbo frequency of 4.80 GHz for everyday productivity.

Upgrade considerations

Buyers moving from a system with 8 GB of memory or a traditional hard drive will notice a clear improvement in multitasking responsiveness and boot speed. The integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory, so this unit is not suited for buyers who need dedicated GPU performance for 3D rendering or modern gaming workloads.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 14.0-inch FHD IPS panel delivers 300 nits brightness with an anti-glare coating for comfortable extended viewing. Intel AX201 WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 maintain stable wireless connectivity during long sessions, while the shared graphics memory architecture means sustained heavy compute tasks will draw from the same 16 GB pool used by applications.

Questions about this item

What RAM type and speed does the ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 use for upgrades?

The laptop uses DDR4 3200 memory. It has 16 GB installed. Check the service manual for slot layout and maximum capacity before buying modules.

How is the 256 GB SSD installed, and what step is often missed?

The SSD fits in an M.2 slot inside the bottom case. After cloning or installing Windows 11 Pro, the bitlocker key must be backed up before the first boot or the drive stays locked.

When will the 16 GB DDR4 3200 memory need replacement?

DDR4 3200 modules rarely fail. Replace only if diagnostics report errors or you need more capacity. The soldered portion cannot be swapped; only the removable slot is upgradeable.
