Refurbished ThinkPad T450 for business basics

This refurbished Lenovo ThinkPad T450 ships with Windows 10 Home 64-bit and a Grade B cosmetic rating. The 14.0" wide screen runs at 1366 x 768 resolution. A dual-core Intel Core i5-5300U Broadwell processor pairs with 4GB of memory and a 128GB SSD. No webcam or optical drive is included.

Thermals noise and power in daily office work

The low-voltage i5-5300U keeps heat output modest during typical document and browser workloads. Fan activity stays quiet enough for shared offices or quiet rooms. Power draw remains low, helping the battery last through a standard workday. The solid-state drive adds no mechanical noise.

Upgrade path from older dual-core ultraportables

This unit replaces ageing Core 2 Duo or first-generation Core i machines that struggle with modern web apps and Windows 10. The jump is worth it when you need SSD responsiveness and 64-bit Windows on a durable chassis. Buyers who want more storage or a built-in webcam should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How is the 128GB SSD installed in the T450, and what step do people often miss?

The SSD fits into the internal M.2 slot after removing the bottom cover; the step often missed is re-seating the battery connector before closing the case.

What maintenance or replacement will the 4GB memory and 128GB SSD need later?

The 4GB memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded; the 128GB SSD can be swapped for a larger M.2 drive when capacity runs low.

What limit appears first on the i5-5300U under sustained workloads?

The dual-core 5300U hits its thermal ceiling first, causing clock-speed throttling during long renders or compiles.
