Business laptop with 4 TB PCIe SSD

The Lenovo Thinkpad T14 Gen 2 is a new 14.0 inch business laptop running Ubuntu Linux. It uses an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor with four cores and a 4.2 GHz maximum turbo frequency. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics drive the 1920 x 1080 IPS display. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a 4 TB PCIe SSD provide the main memory and storage.

Suits mobile professionals needing large local

This configuration suits professionals who need a 4 TB PCIe SSD for large project files or databases while travelling. The 3.23 lb weight and 50 WHr battery support mobile work. Buyers who want a dedicated graphics processor for 3D rendering or video encoding should look elsewhere. Users requiring a touchscreen or more than 16 GB of memory will also need a different model.

4 TB PCIe SSD decides fit

The single specification that decides fit is the 4 TB PCIe SSD capacity. It determines whether the laptop can hold the required working set without external drives. The drive uses a PCIe interface and the system provides two Thunderbolt 4 ports for additional high-speed peripherals. Verify that the operating system and applications are compatible with Ubuntu Linux before purchase.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions and weight so I can check if it fits my 14 inch laptop sleeve?

The laptop measures 12.9 IN x 8.9 IN x .70 IN and weighs 3.23lb, making it a slim 14.0 inch form factor that fits most standard 14 inch sleeves and bags.

How do I install the 65W power supply and which USB-C port should I use for charging?

Connect the included 65W power supply to either of the two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports; both support power delivery, so you can charge from the left or right side depending on your desk setup.

When will the integrated 50WHr Li-Polymer battery need replacement and can I swap it myself?

The internal 50WHr battery is not user-removable; after 2 to 3 years of daily cycles you may notice reduced runtime, at which point a Lenovo authorised service centre can replace the sealed pack.
