Ready-to-work 15.6-inch business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T15 Gen 1 ships with Windows 11 Pro installed and 40 GB of DDR4 memory. A quad-core Intel Core i5-10310U processor reaches 4.40 GHz turbo frequency. The 15.6-inch IPS panel shows 1920 x 1080 resolution without touch input. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics use shared system memory. A 256 GB SSD provides the boot drive.

Windows 11 Pro and 40 GB RAM change daily capacity

The operating system is ready for domain join, BitLocker and remote management out of the box. Memory is configured as 8 GB soldered plus one 32 GB DDR4 2666 module, filling the single slot. No further RAM upgrades are possible. The 256 GB drive leaves room for applications and local files, while the M.2 2242 form factor supports larger replacements.

Questions about this item

Can I add more DDR4 memory later or will the 40 GB soldered and slotted layout block upgrades?

The 40 GB consists of 8 GB onboard plus a 32 GB DDR4 2666 module in the single SO-DIMM slot; that slot is now full, so further expansion requires replacing the installed module up to the 48 GB platform limit.

Will the 15 W quad-core i5-10310U hit its 4.40 GHz turbo ceiling or the 256 GB SSD write speed first during long workloads?

Sustained all-core loads typically hold the i5-10310U well below its 4.40 GHz single-core turbo, so the CPU thermal envelope becomes the limiting factor before the SSD saturates.

How loud and hot does the T15 Gen 1 get when the i5-10310U and Intel UHD graphics run flat-out all day?

Under continuous load the dual-fan cooler keeps the chassis warm but not uncomfortable, and fan noise stays in the low-audible range suitable for open-plan offices.
