15.6″ UHD touchscreen mobile workstation

The Lenovo ThinkPad T15p Gen 2 combines an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-11800H processor with a dedicated GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card. It ships with 64 GB of DDR4-3200 memory and a 1 TB drive. The 15.6 inch display delivers 3840 x 2160 resolution with 100% sRGB coverage and 600 nits brightness. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed for professional environments.

Thunderbolt 4 and WiFi 6 connectivity limits

Thunderbolt 4 provides up to 40 Gbps bandwidth for external GPUs, docks and NVMe storage, but cable length and device certification affect real-world throughput. WiFi 6 improves efficiency in dense networks, yet actual speeds depend on router capabilities and local interference. The 4 GB GDDR6 frame buffer on the GTX 1650 caps texture capacity in large assemblies or high-resolution viewports.

SODIMM slots and driver preparation

Memory uses standard SODIMM modules; the two 32 GB sticks occupy both slots, so future upgrades require replacing the kit. Storage uses an M.2 PCIe Gen 4 NVMe drive that is accessible after removing the bottom cover. Clean GPU driver installation is recommended because factory images sometimes include older branches that limit CAD application stability.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 64 GB DDR4-3200 configuration or look for a lower capacity?

The unit ships with 64 GB DDR4-3200 as two 32 GB SODIMM modules, filling both slots; a lower capacity would require removing memory.

How does the i7-11800H at 3.20 GHz perform inside this 15.6" chassis?

The 11th Gen Core i7-11800H runs at 3.20 GHz base with eight cores, delivering high multi-thread throughput for CAD and visualization workloads.

What does the Thunderbolt 4 port cap at for external storage?

Thunderbolt 4 provides up to 40 Gb/s bandwidth, so an external NVMe enclosure can saturate PCIe Gen 3 x4 speeds in practice.
